DOORS 10:15PM | SHOW 10:30PM - 11:45PM $15 cover. (Seat assignments are subject to change and availability) Brian Allen is a Grand Rapids native and has been playing drums since the age of 2. In his young age, his first exposure to music was at a local church where he learned the foundations of drums, gospel, and overall musical knowledge. Over the years Brian has grown experienced and well versed in multiple genres such as funk, RnB and more recently jazz. He recently got his Bachelor’s degree at Michigan State University under Randy Gelispie, and Rodney Whitaker. expanding his knowledge on jazz music and composition. Through MSU, Brian has been able to expand his knowledge of jazz music and composition. He also got to meet many phenomenal drummers such as Lewis Nash, Carl Allen, Quincy Davis, and Roy Mccurdy. Brian has been blessed to play with a plethora of great artists and musicians throughout his recent years since highschool. His next goals are to go deeper in arranging and composing new music while building a stronger platform for himself in jazz music.
